This is my final project! It's a marine dragon done in chalk pastels! I struggled alot with the medium, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I love the colors, and the semi-realism is very pretty in my opinion.
Peter Max - Large-Scale Acrylic Painting
This is my Peter Max inspired piece! I had a lot of fun with the gradients. This is Marilyn Manson in a stylistic, cartoon style.
Plaster Sculpture - Beauty Killer
This is my completed plaster sculpture! I had a lot or fun with it, and I'm quite happy with the colors and the shapes. I struggled with making the form less squared, since we hardened our plaster in juice containers. But I have to admit, it was very fun carving away at the sharp corners to round them off!
Plaster Sculpture Progress
Here is my progress of my plaster sculpture. I am really enjoying making this, I hope once I begin painting that the message of the piece will be more clear, and that the paint will help bring out some of the smaller details!
Graphite Portrait - Madison Clark
Here is my complete portrait of my friend, Madi. I'm not very satisfied with how it came out. I should have moved the eyes down more, and the chin and nose seem off. But, I am glad I was able to complete it. (Also, here's my lovely Donald Trump caricature.
Graphite Portrait Progress
Some more progress on my portrait. I plan to adjust the face more. The jaw seems too broad, but I am really enjoying rendering the features. I usually don't work in pencil, but this has really opened my eyes to how therapeutic blending and sketching can really be.
My portrait progress of my friend, Madi. I'm having a lot of fun shading the drawing the hair, and I'm hoping to really nail this project. I rarely do realism, so I think this is a good chance to not only show others my skills, but also prove to myself that I am able to do this!
Features Practice
Here are my finished ears, eyes, noses, and mouth drawings, followed by my reference photo and beginning of my portrait. I had fun doing the features practice, and I look forward to starting my drawing of my friend!
Life Cycle Comic
Here is my finished final project, a comic I made called "Life Cycle." I used alcohol markers on it, and attempted a grungy look with the messy lines in the corners, and minimal color palette. I love nature and apocalyptic scenarios, so I thought that a mixture of the two would be very interesting. I had a lot of fun making my own story that doesn't just get lost in my own head!
Life Cycle Comic - Beginnings
Working on the front cover and panels on my comic for my final project.
Woodland Landscape Watercolor Painting
Here's my finished watercolor piece. I had a lot of fun creating this, and I'm very proud of the detail work! I never do backgrounds or landscape, so a lot of this was very experimental. Despite that, I love how this turned out, and it's one of my favorite projects that I have ever made!
Watercolor Progress
Here is the beginning of my watercolor piece. Right now I'm building up color and general shape. I'm having a lot of fun with it, even if taping down the paper was a pain!
Watercolor Techniques Practice
Here are my practice squares of different watercolor techniques, and my sad second attempt at getting my paper ready for the watercolor. I am struggling with attaching the paper but I will keep trying until it's perfect! I won't let paper beat me!
Lino-Block Prints "Abandonment"
These are my finished prints from my linoleum block print. I really enjoyed doing this, and playing around with colors was really nice. This isn't my first time working with printing, but this is definitely my most detailed piece! I love carving away at things, so this was so calming to do.
Some more gradiented prints I did with my Abandonment print! I love the middle one, and the last photo is the staining on my block that I thought was kind of pretty.
Block Printing Beginning
My idea for my block print is abandonment. I chose this emotion because it doesn't seem overused, and I like the scene I was able to create. I usually don't create sceneries, so this will be something new for me!
Block printing! I love block prints and creating gradients with the ink is really fun.
Large White Charcoal Piece on Black Paper - Underwater
Finished white large-scale charcoal drawing. I really loved adding in the background underwater elements! Working with the medium was really fun as well. I love using the white charcoal on the paper because it's a lot more challenging to me. I usually don't use this medium so its fun to explore it. Adding the details and shading has been very relaxing and fun.
Speed Drawing With Charcoal
.
Mrs. Fiedler had us do this veyry fun activity of placing random objects in front of us to draw. I got this very cool statue of a make believe animal, and I had a lot of fun getting all the features down as fast as possible!
Finished Stab-Binding Sketchbook
Finally got my stab-binding completed after 3 attempts. I made and measured out a pattern for my binding, because the heart pattern was not working for me. It was fun to create once I knew it wouldn't break or fall apart on me.
Failed attempt at Stab-Binding
Beautiful stab-binding killed by the drill. May it rest in peace. (Pieces) Gonna keep working on my NEW sketchbook, so it'll be posted soon!
